As we’re about 6 weeks into mandatory isolation in the US and around the world, many consumers are looking to take advantage of their time at home by staying fit. Data shows that exercise equipment is in the highest demand by product, showing an average ~4,200% YoY growth rate since January 2020, for these 4 products specifically (swiss ball, boxing gloves, soccer ball, and weights). It will be interesting to see how long these product categories continue to climb in popularity, and when they begin to even out. More notably, how will this at-home fitness trend impact gym membership rates post-pandemic? It will be intriguing to see how these changes affect everyday life through the tail-end of 2020.
